Khalil Mack looking forward to sacking Peyton Manning

The Oakland Raiders were able to snag Khalil Mack with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and he was pinpointed as one of the dream picks for the team coming into the draft. With Mack, second-year pro Sio Moore, and free agent signings such as Antonio Smith, LaMarr Woodley, and Justin Tuck, the Raiders have one of the league’s best front sevens.

At the NFLPA’s Rookie Premiere, the NFL Network caught up with Mack and asked him a pretty common question for incoming pass rushers: ““Who are you looking forward to sacking the most?”

Mack’s reply isn’t surprising at all, and it’s a certain big-name quarterback in his division. He said, via CSN Bay Area’s Scott Bair, “I think that has to be Peyton (Manning). Just thinking about it (excites me), you know what I mean?”

I think it’s every young pass rusher’s dream to lay a licking on a legendary quarterback like Manning or Tom Brady, and Mack should have some nice chances to get after Manning. It definitely won’t be easy, because Manning has the kind of elite pocket awareness that prevents him from getting sacked once the pressure is on, and it’s also difficult to get pressure on him with offensive linemen like Ryan Clady and Manny Ramirez in front of him.
