Khalil Mack looking forward to sacking Peyton Manning

The Oakland Raiders were able to snag Khalil Mack with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and he was pinpointed as one of the dream picks for the team coming into the draft. With Mack, second-year pro Sio Moore, and free agent signings such as Antonio Smith, LaMarr Woodley, and Justin Tuck, the Raiders have one of the league’s best front sevens.

At the NFLPA’s Rookie Premiere, the NFL Network caught up with Mack and asked him a pretty common question for incoming pass rushers: ““Who are you looking forward to sacking the most?”

Mack’s reply isn’t surprising at all, and it’s a certain big-name quarterback in his division. He said, via CSN Bay Area’s Scott Bair“I think that has to be Peyton (Manning). Just thinking about it (excites me), you know what I mean?”

I think it’s every young pass rusher’s dream to lay a licking on a legendary quarterback like Manning or Tom Brady, and Mack should have some nice chances to get after Manning. It definitely won’t be easy, because Manning has the kind of elite pocket awareness that prevents him from getting sacked once the pressure is on, and it’s also difficult to get pressure on him with offensive linemen like Ryan Clady and Manny Ramirez in front of him.

I’m going to borrow a line from Spiderman “with great power comes great responsibility”. Peyton Manning is 38 years old and coming off of one of the worst performances of his entire career. We saw a great defense conform a future Hall of Fame quarterback into a five-year-old little girl whimpering in the corner from too many lashes from her abusive drunk stepfather. Yes, that is what the Seahawks defense did to Manning during the Super Bowl. As much as I can’t stand the Broncos I actually felt very sorry for them. They didn’t look like they’re just overmatched they looked like they were a Little League team playing amongst professionals. Now… The Raiders could possibly have one of if not the best from seven in the NFL. Last year they didn’t have any pass rush and this year they are riddled with past rushers. Peyton Manning will be facing so many great defenses and great pass rushers this next season it will be a surprise if he makes it all 16 games.

Your a Moron, but coming from a Raiders fan it’s to be expected. This year Broncos have their elite O line back, and Peyton releases the ball in under 2 seconds. Keep dreaming about his age, jealous haters. At least the Broncos made it to the SB to get blown out……

      • Chris Schroeder

That’s not very nice Kevin. Lol! Buts that’s to be expected from a Bronco fan. Do you hear how that sound when it’s thrown back at you? Don’t be a POORE sport. I was only stating the facts dude. I even said that I felt sorry for the Broncos during that dismal performance. Geez… Cut a guy some slack for telling the truth.

Well played Ricky, from Silver Spoons…Oh wait is that a different Schroeder?

          • Chris Schroeder

Ricky from Silverspoon’s last name was spelled Schroder. Only one “E” dingdong. Plus, it’s not like I haven’t heard that one back when I was in grade school in the 80s. Lol!

Leave it to a Donkey fan to be happy to make to a Super Bowl, only to get blown out, I guess it brings back back memories of the good old days when the Whiners were stomping all over the Donkeys in the big game.
