Detroit Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah on mend from shoulder surgery

Detroit Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah will not participate in OTAs after having shoulder surgery. He will have to learn the new defensive scheme that has been brought to town by sitting on the sideline. He will have to take a ton of mental reps and will have to get his head in the playbook a ton in order to stay on pace.

Once he does get cleared to see the field, he can get that action with the rest of his teammates, but for now he has to sit the sideline and watch.

Ansah led the team in sacks last season with 8 and the team will rely on him to bring more pressure form the outside. The shoulder injury will keep him on the sidelines for a little bit, but there is plenty of time for him to get back into action and work on his game with the rest of the team. Hopefully he doesn’t have to miss much of training camp with the injury.
