The Arizona Cardinals showed interest in Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon before the start of the NFL Draft this offseason, but the Bucs decided to hang onto their young quarterback instead and the Cardinals had to look in a different direction for their future (Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht via FOX Sports 910). Glennon would have been a strong arm that the Cardinals could have groomed behind Carson Palmer on offense. He could have been a nice fit for the team.
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians loves having a quarterback that can sling the ball around the field and Glennon would have been a nice fit for his offense. Instead, the Cards took Logan Thomas in the draft and will be looking to develop him to be the quarterback of the future.
The Buccaneers see Glennon as their future starter on offense. He will be backing up Josh McCown this season, but will get his chances soon. He could give McCown some competition in the preseason and during training camp.
