Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has missed all of OTAs this offseason, but that is nothing new for the veteran running back. There are reports from Ian Rapoport about him possibly missing mandatory training camp though. Lynch has been looking to get an extension on his deal and there is talk about him holding out during training camp in hopes of getting an extension on his deal.

Lynch’s deal already pays him till the end of the 2015 season. Why would he be looking for an extension now? The value on running backs have gone down significantly this offseason as well. It is not the right time for a running back to look for a new deal, especially when there is still a couple of years on their current deal.

The Seahawks don’t need to deal with this issue. He is paid for 2 more seasons and there is a young running back in Christine Michael that will be getting more playing time this season. Michael is the future at running back for the team. Lynch will have to suck it up and play those final couple of seasons on his deal.
