Pittsburgh Steelers rookie LB Ryan Shazier has been flying around all over the field and making plays during offseason practices. He has elite speed at the linebacker position and is all over the field around the football. Steelers defense coordinator Dick LeBeau is lining him up all over taking advantage of his versatility. LeBeau must love the new toy that he is able to dispense onto the field. There will be some added speed onto the defense.

Alan Robinson of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says that Shazier looks like a younger version of Troy Polamalu during practice. That is a huge compliment to give the rookie that has yet to step onto the field for a regular season game. Have they even put the pads on yet? It does compliment the kids ability to fly around the field. He will be around the football to make plays.

Unlike Polamalu, Shazier will be lining up at linebacker to make plays. He will have Polamalu behind him though to give him some guidance.
