Justin Houston not expected to make appearance at Kansas City Chiefs minicamp

Kansas City Chiefs LB Justin Houston is not expected to make his appearance for the mandatory minicamp that opens up today, per Kansas City Star. He already has skipped out on the earlier offseason program with the team and now it is likely he will not make his appearance for the minicamp.

Houston is looking to sign a new contract with the team. He is in the final year of his rookie contract and he wants to get paid. He showed that he is a dominant pass rusher with a lot more potential, now he wants to get paid like one. He wants that money.

Houston played in 11 games last season and finished with 11 sacks. Imagine what he could do if he were healthy for the whole season.

If the team wants to keep Houston around or see him in training camp sessions any time soon, they will have to pay him that deal he is looking for. Otherwise, we could see a lengthier holdout from the star linebacker.

houston = spoiled jerk. He signed the contract; abide by the rules during negotiations. RHudson and ASmith are demonstrating integrity during their contract negotiations by adhering to their contract and team support. I’m glad houston’s daily no-show fines are hefty and that DFord is learning starter reps
