The buzz out of Minnesota has Matt Cassel as the favorite to win the starting quarterback job over rookie Teddy Bridgewater. Norv Turner usually likes to go with veterans on the roster and likely will trust in Cassell. Still, Bridgewater can impress and take the starting job out of training camp.
He was asked about the starting job and he didn’t feel comfortable talking about it with the media at this time.
“That’s something I don’t feel comfortable talking about,” Bridgewater said, via ESPN.com. “I’m just looking forward to training camp. Can’t wait to get to Mankato, put the pads on and just continue doing what we’ve got to do — play football.”
I feel like Bridgewater should be a bit more aggressive and enthusiastic about the quarterback battle. Just come into camp thinking that he will take the job and then ball out. He has a chance to take the starting role and could lead an offense with some nice weapons.
