Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice retiring

Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice has decided to hang up the cleats today. He is retiring and calling it quits. Time for Rice to start working toward a new adventure in life.

Rice won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks last season, but has not been able to contribute on offense for some time. He has battled through injuries during his tenure in the NFL and was never able to put up the numbers while in a Seahawks jersey. The expectations were there, but the injuries held him back.

Rice’s time in the NFL is all done because of the injuries. Here is what he had to say via CBS Sports.

“I was just thinking about things I’ve been through in the last few years,” Rice told the team’s official website. “I’ve hit the ground a number of times. I have quite a few injuries. It’s something I’ve always battled through and came back from, But I just figure at this point I have the rest of my life ahead of me and I want to be able to function and do things later down the road.”
