Oakland Raiders considering San Antonio as a new location

The Oakland Raiders have a year lease on their current deal Coliseum. The team is exploring around for possible options to play their games in the future. The Raiders want to build a new stadium on top of their current location, but the baseball team in town is closing in on a 10-year lease to keep playing there.

The Raiders have explored possibilities in San Antonio. The Raiders owner Mark Davis had met with San Antonio officials about a possible relocation into the city, per the San Antonio Express-News.

Mark Davis needs to create some leverage on the stadium deal. It is difficult to get plans on a stadium complete in California and the threat of a move could speed up the process. San Antonio could be an option for the team and Los Angeles is always an option for a team that is on the move.

The fans in Oakland will hate the idea of the team moving, but they have seen it happen in the past. It could happen all over again.
