Josh Gordon appeal will be tomorrow

Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Josh Gordon is appealing a full-game suspension from the NFL for various off-field transgressions, mostly dealing with marijuana. We’ve all heard that his main arguments will likely center around “second-hand smoke” and the “A, B cup”, as Gordon reportedly barely failed his drug test. His appeal is an all or nothing affair, as he will either be suspended for the full 2014 season or avoid a suspension entirely.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Gordon’s appeal hearing will be tomorrow, and we’ll see how things go for the uber-talented 23-year-old. Gordon has a shot at avoiding his suspension if he can argue his points successfully, but I wouldn’t hold my breath at this point. The league’s policy against marijuana is archaic and far too strict, but Gordon has an uphill battle when it comes to winning his appeal tomorrow.

Last season, Gordon led the league with 1,646 receiving yards, as he had a whopping 117.9 yards per game average and an average of 18.9 yards per reception. If Gordon ends up winning his appeal, then the Browns passing attack will go from a question mark to potentially dangerous with an elite receiver in Gordon, Jordan Cameron, Andrew Hawkins, a potentially healthy Miles Austin, and some young sleepers at WR.
