Rob Gronkowski held out of joint practices with Washington Redskins

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will be held out of the joint practices with the Washington Redskins. The Patriots and the Redskins are practicing together this week and it will be a competitive week of practice. With Gronk recovering from his ACL injury, the Patriots did not want to risk him in practices.

The Patriots will do whatever they can to keep Gronk fresh for the season. They may hold him out of the preseason games in order to keep him healthy.

We all know what Gronk is capable of doing on the field. We just need to see him on the field in situations that count.

There is no need to risk him in situations at practice with some guys that are fighting for their football lives. Some young kids are on the field are doing whatever they can to win a roster spot in practice. Those kids may go harder against Gronk to make an impression in front of their teammates and coaching staff.

Good decision by the Patriots to keep him on the sideline at this time.
