Calvin Johnson

If there is one name that you need to know that pertains to the Detroit Lions; it’s Calvin Johnson. In 2013 Johnson went out and caught 84 passes for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns for Detroit (eight 98+ yard games in 2013, one 329-yard performance against Dallas). In short, Calvin Johnson was unbelievably good as usual. For years Megatron has impressed NFL fans and defensive coordinators alike. In his entire career, Johnson has averaged 88 yards per game receiving and has scored 66 touchdowns. The guy is a behemoth. Now, whether you know that information or not, we must talk about Johnson’s fantasy upside this season. This season the Lions have added WR Golden Tate to their receiving corps. Some may think that Tate will steal receptions from Johnson (which is true), however I see it as a good thing because now Tate will take corners to cover him. Johnson would have to fight through double and triple coverage in 2013. Now that Tate is on the squad, Johnson can rest assured he won’t have to fight through three defenders just to catch a pass. Matthew Stafford is coming back healthy and ready to do some damage on the NFC North this fall. Watch for Megatron to once again be the #1 receiver in the game.
