Oregon Ducks LT Jake Fisher spotted in crutches, ‘large knee brace’

Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Ducks whipped the Wyoming Cowboys 48-14 this afternoon, as the best 2015 NFL Draft prospect threw just four incomplete passes and averaged 9.6 yards per attempt with 71 rushing yards and two rushing TDs on five carries against inferior competition. But while the Ducks dominated on the field, they may have suffered a key loss, as top offensive tackle prospect Jake Fisher went down with a left leg injury.

According to CSNNW’s Aaron J. Fentress, Fisher, who is one of the best left tackles in the country, was spotted wearing crutches and a “large” brace on his left knee after the game. This comes after trainers took a look at him, but he was able to walk off the field, albeit slowly.

There are no major updates on the injury at this time, but this is definitely something to watch for closely. Fisher is a rising draft prospect after putting forward an excellent display against Michigan State, as he showed off better technique than expected as a relatively new LT. He’s a solid pass protector who can get out and move in the running game, which isn’t surprising given that he plays for Oregon. Hopefully there’s nothing serious here, but his status is totally up-in-the-air this early after the game. I mean, this could be as simple as a precaution or as severe as an injury that would take him out for several weeks.
