A.J. Green will not have snaps limited

Today’s matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons will pit two playoff contenders coming off of Week 1 victories against bitter rivals against each other, and it will also showcase three of the league’s best wide receivers. Julio Jones, A.J. Green, and Roddy White all had big games last week, and Green, who is the star of the Bengals offense, hauled in six passes for 131 yards, including the game-winning touchdown that went for 77 yards and built his day statistically. Green will have to battle it out against one of the best young corners in the game in Desmond Trufant, but there’s no reason to doubt his ability to beat top corners.

  • Per a source close to the NFL Network’s Jeff Darlington, Green will not be on any sort of a “pitch count” despite missing practice on Thursday with a foot injury after being limited on Wednesday. Mid-week downgrades in practice status are always a concern, but those were all quelled when he practiced on Friday and was deemed a full go.

Darlington’s report today calms any concerns of Green being limited, and the Bengals honestly can’t afford to limit him in such a big game, especially with Tyler Eifert now joining Marvin Jones on the injured list. Jones will be back in a few weeks, though Jermaine Gresham will have to hold down the fort at TE with Eifert on the short-term IR.

With Vontaze Burfict cleared from a concussion, the Bengals look pretty healthy today.
