Roddy White a lock for Week 3
Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Roddy White had to fight through multiple nagging injuries last season, but he was able to show off his quality near the end of the year after those ailments subsided, finishing with 63 receptions and an average of just over 50 receiving yards per game. This year, White is hoping to avoid another issue, as he did not practice all week with a hamstring injury of unknown severity. Currently listed as questionable on the team’s injury report, some are worried that the No. 2 receiver could miss tomorrow night’s big rivalry matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, ESPN NFL Nation’s Vaughn McClure reports that there is “no doubt” that White will play against the Buccaneers, and it looks like the Falcons are just managing his practice status on a short week. His health is more important than his ability to practice, but the fact that he had to miss all three practice sessions indicates that there is indeed something to this injury.
That said, the strong report from McClure should quell all concerns at this point, though it would still be wise to check up on his status before the opening kick-off tomorrow night. Per McClure, only a “dramatic occurrence” would knock one of the Falcons most important players out of this week’s contest, which is great news for those of us who were initially concerned.
