Dallas Cowboys Rolando McClain ‘in doubt’ with groin injury
Dallas Cowboys middle linebacker Rolando McClain has been a revelation through the first two weeks of the regular season, as the Cowboys may have found a legit long-term partner in crime for Sean Lee at the linebacker position. With Lee out for the season, McClain was acquired for a sack of oranges in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens in what was pretty much a desperation move. But it was a worthy gamble, as the Cowboys paid nothing for the price of a high-upside, totally unproven former first-round pick. McClain is the kind of playmaker who can make a big impact (his uncanny athleticism at the position also makes him a valuable commodity in coverage), and he’s done everything asked of him to this point.

Unfortunately, it looks like the Cowboys could be forced to face the St. Louis Rams without him. Per Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas, McClain is “in doubt” for this week’s game due to a groin injury, and dependable veteran Justin Durant is also expected to miss some more time with a groin injury.
MacMahon reports that the Cowboys are expected to roll with Bruce Carter, Kyle Wilbert, and young gun Anthony Hitchens at linebacker, which gives Zac Stacy some more upside in this game. Stacy is the focal point of the Rams offense and Austin Davis isn’t doing poorly in the game manager role, but this should be a relatively easy win for the Cowboys against a Rams team that isn’t a legit threat to most teams.
McClain hasn’t been ruled out, so there’s still hope that he can suit up.
