DeSean Jackson Injury Update: Game-time decision, ‘wants to play’
Washington Redskins star wide receiver DeSean Jackson caught eight passes for 62 yards in a strong debut for the team against the Houston Texans, but he only caught one pass in Week 2 after suffering a shoulder injury. He has always looked like a toss-up for this week’s charged reunion with the Philadelphia Eagles, who released one of their best players on still-unclear circumstances. While the Eagles are fine without him, I’m sure they are hoping that D-Jax doesn’t take a bite out of them in today’s rivalry matchup.

Jackson, who was able to put in a limited practice on Friday in order to keep his chances at playing alive, unsurprisingly wants to play incredibly badly; he wants to hand it to the team that cut him and, by extension, took a cut out of his reputation.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Jackson is, as expected, a game-time decision and “wants to play”. He will test his shoulder out before the game begins, but the shoulder is “an issue”, per Schefter.
The Redskins can’t afford Jackson to aggravate this injury, but he could help them complete a rivalry upset against the Eagles with his explosive playmaking ability. It’s going to be a tough call for the Redskins, so he should still be regarded as a 50-50 toss-up.
