Robert Woods, Shane Vereen Injury Updates: AFC East standouts active
As it was fully expected, Buffalo Bills second-year wide receiver Robert Woods is officially active for today’s clash against the San Diego Chargers after only being listed probable on the team’s injury report with an ankle injury. Woods actually missed practice on Wednesday after catching just one pass for five yards in a Week 2 victory over the rival Miami Dolphins, but Woods returned to practice on Thursday and was locked in to play today.

If the Bills can beat the Chargers today, then their 3-0 start to the season will look awfully legit with wins over the Chicago Bears, Dolphins, and Chargers. All three of these teams are good squads with legit shots at making the playoffs, so the Bills could definitely make a statement today by beating a team that defeated the Seattle Seahawks last week. Woods has a quality matchup ahead of him, and even though he’s coming off of a one-catch game in Week 2, he roasted the Bears with four receptions for 78 yards.
New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen was expected to play today with a shoulder injury that he may or may not have suffered in last week’s 30-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings. Vereen has a great shot at putting up nice numbers on the Oakland Raiders defense today, but we’ll have to see how many touches he gets. Although he was listed questionable, Vereen’s shoulder injury was never seen as a serious issue, because the injury-prone RB managed to practice every day this week.
