Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall Injury Updates: Chicago Bears WRs will play

facebooktwitterreddit

Chicago Bears superstar wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall have been listed questionable for a second straight week, but they are in better health this week than they were last week- and they still managed to play last week despite reports on gameday that they were more likely to be on the inactive list. Marshall caught three touchdown passes to help lead the Bears to victory over the tough San Francisco 49ers in Week 2, so you can only imagine how good he’ll be tonight against a softer matchup in the New York Jets to go with a healthier ankle.

  • Marshall and Jeffery have always been expected to play tonight, and ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson reported on NFL Insiders (which is easily ESPN’s best show), via Rotoworld, that both wideouts will indeed play against the Jets.

Jeffery has just eight receptions through the first two weeks, but he’s managed to turn them into 118 yards. I think he could have the strongest game of the two, because the Jets could have a very difficult time matching up with him downfield. Jeffery’s ability to win battles with his size and speed make him an ideal playmaker, and his ball skills are also excellent. One of those two figures to go off today against the Jets secondary, and the Bears could really pop off the huge numbers tonight that we thought we’d see in Week 1 against another AFC East team in the Buffalo Bills.
