Washington Redskins DeAngelo Hall has successful surgery

Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall signed a pretty lucrative (well, given his age) contract this offseason, but the Redskins won’t be able to get anything out of him in the first year of his deal after he suffered a season-ending Achilles tear against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. It was a crushing blow, as Hall is still the Redskins most consistent cornerback despite being 30, but his age in combination with his injury is a cause for concern when it comes to him paying the team back on his four-year, $17 million contract.

  • According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Hall is “believed” to have no complications after going under the knife today to repair his Achilles’ tendon, and it would honestly be a surprise for his surgery not to be successful. I mean, how many times do you hear about an unsuccessful surgery to an NFL player? It’s a rarity.

Hall tweeted earlier today that he “made it out safe and sound”, giving a heart-warming welcome to Dr. Robert Anderson, who is a foot and ankle specialist famous for surgeries on NFL players. Anderson is one of the best in the business, and Hall backed that up by stating, “You’re one of the best” in his post-surgery tweet.

It’s great to hear that Hall is doing well, and hopefully he can come back fully healthy and make me regret criticizing the contract the Redskins gave him.
