The NFL season is now a quarter of the way through and it has been filled with surprises. With expected contenders like the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers continuing to struggle, teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and the San Diego Chargers continue to play well.

Philip Rivers is putting together a MVP-like season; while the Cowboys offensive line has continued to thrive, as the Cowboys lead the league in rushing. Both of these teams had different expectations heading into the season and both of them are playing well beyond them.

Here are my Power Rankings for week 5. Feel free to leave your comments and opinions below. Also, make sure you check back every Tuesday morning as I will continue to post my Power Rankings throughout the season.

Previous: 6th. San Diego Chargers. 6. team. 13. Philip Rivers enjoyed playing the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, throwing for over three-hundred yards and three touchdowns. Through the first four games Rivers has played like a MVP candidate.. (3-1)

The Baltimore Ravens made quick work of the Carolina Panthers, dominating them in every aspect. Joe Flacco shined, while the running game was able to break the 100 yard mark. Also, give credit to their defense. They have been sharp this season.. (3-1). Previous: . Baltimore Ravens. 7. team. 26

46. The Indianapolis Colts have won nine straight games against divisional opponents. That’s what happens when you have Andrew Luck at the helm. . (2-2). Previous: . Indianapolis Colts. 8. team
