Tennessee Titans sign Lache Seastrunk to practice squad

Rookie running back Lache Seastrunk has already been bounced around in this league, as he was cut by the Washington Redskins during the 53-man roster crunchdown after they made him a sixth-round pick. He didn’t even make the Redskins practice squad, and he had to wait until he joined someone’s p-squad, as the Carolina Panthers scooped him up after an unsuccessful workout with the Green Bay Packers early in the month.

  • Despite injuries at the position, the Panthers still decided that Seastrunk wasn’t good enough to cut the mustard on their practice squad, as they cut ties with him last week and signed Tauren Poole instead. Now, the Associated Press reports that the Baylor Bears product has finally found a new home, as the Tennessee Titans have signed him to the practice squad.

It’s a worthwhile investment for Ken Whisenhunt and Co, because Seastrunk is an athletic, explosive running back who regularly made big plays in college. However, he is also a limited rusher who doesn’t fit the general prototype of a true change-of-pace back, because he doesn’t offer anything in the passing game. Seastrunk most likely won’t crack the Titans 53-man roster via a promotion, but it will be interesting to see how long the Titans keep him.
