Arian Foster, Andre Johnson Injury Updates

Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster was worked to exhaustion over the first couple of weeks of the regular season, and he ended up with a hamstring injury to add to his impressive displays on the ground. The Texans workhorse back missed Week 3, and he clearly didn’t look himself when pushed to play in Week 4. It’s clear that the Texans need to start using Alfred Blue more often, but Foster’s injury shouldn’t be an issue this week. He mostly seems past those hamstring issues now, and he was only listed probable on the Texans official injury report.

  • The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Arian Foster and Andre Johnson are both set to play today against the Dallas Cowboys, and both should be considered healthy against an awful defense. Johnson should have the easiest time taking advantage of favorable matchups, because even though the Texans don’t throw the ball often with Ryan Fitzpatrick, they almost always feed him the ball when they stop giving it to Foster.

Johnson has 22 receptions for 262 yards so far this season, and he’ll be able to add to that total today against Dallas, as the ankle injury he sustained isn’t serious at all. He was listed questionable on the injury report, but the Texans have always expected the franchise legend to suit up.
