DeAngelo Williams, Austin Seferian-Jenkins Injury Updates
The Carolina Panthers rushing attack will feature a committee of cast-offs today against the Chicago Bears, with the unproven Darrin Reaves leading the way. Both Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams are unsurprising inactives today, as Williams is expected to miss a few weeks with an ankle injury. Stewart is the more injury-prone of the two, but Williams has also found it extremely difficult to stay healthy this week and has his ankle in a hard cast right now. D-Will was never expected to play this week, and he was considered highly doubtful to play.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, on the other hand, will be out there today against the rival New Orleans Saints and will likely be entrusted with a larger role in the offense. Not only is ASJ healthier, but the rookie TE will receive more targets with first-round pick Mike Evans out for a bit of time after picking up an injury in last week’s last-gasp win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Seferian-Jenkins was officially listed as questionable on the Buccaneers injury report, and his foot injury should no longer be an issue after he’s now a week removed from first making his return to the lineup. In his first game back from the foot injury, the former Washington Huskies star did some nice things against the easy Steelers pass defense, as he caught three passes for 44 yards; it’s fair to expect bigger numbers today.
