Odell Beckham Jr., Jon Beason Injury Updates

facebooktwitterreddit

New York Giants first-round wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is a gem of a talent, but we haven’t been able to watch him shine on the field this season due to a hamstring injury that he suffered in training camp and keeps aggravating. Beckham was once expected to finally make his return last week, but the Giants decided to continue to play it cautious with him. The last thing they need is yet another aggravation, as you could argue that they helped cause the first aggravation by rushing him back to practice.

  • According to the New York Daily News’s Ralph Vacchiano, Beckham is indeed expected to play, but the LSU Tigers rookie is also expected to be limited today against the Atlanta Falcons. The good news is that Beckham won’t need many touches today, because the Falcons might have the league’s worst defense. OBJ can win just about anywhere on the field, and he should be a huge weapon for the Giants as he rounds into health and form.

Per two sources close to the NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones, Giants veteran middle linebacker Jon Beason will not play today, as he expected to make his return this week after being out since Week 2 when he aggravated a significant toe injury that he sustained in the offseason. Beason’s continued absences are a tough blow to the Giants linebackers corps, but the good thing is that the Falcons aren’t known for their running game.
