The Miami Dolphins have suspended bench player Derrick Shelby for conduct detrimental to the team. Shelby was arrested over the weekend after an incident at a Fort Lauderdale nightclub which began with him “touching women” according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Shelby was asked to leave the club a number of times and he refused to leave and asked “What are you going to do about it?!” That seems like the perfect thing to say to the cops! Genius move right there.

Shelby was intoxicated and struggled with the cops a little bit. More like a lot a bit. Shelby had to be shot with the stun gun 3 times before he was taken into custody.

If you look over the mugshot of Shelby though, you know he took a beating. I don’t know who that came at the hands of, but the report from the Sun-Sentinel only mentioned a struggle with the officers and with nobody else. We will see what comes of this, but Shelby is suspended indefinitely while he deals with his legal matters.
