Seattle Seahawks Injury News: Kam Chancellor, Max Unger

facebooktwitterreddit

The Seattle Seahawks will take on Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray, and Dez Bryant on Sunday when they face the Dallas Cowboys, and they should be relatively healthy this week. That said, it looks like one key player isn’t expected to suit up, as star center Max Unger went down with a foot injury in the team’s Monday Night Football win over the Washington Redskins.

  • According to the Everett Herald’s John Boyle, the Seahawks have officially listed Unger as doubtful and star strong safety Kam Chancellor as questionable against the Seahawks. Normally, missing Unger would be a huge loss, but the Cowboys defensive line is so weak that it might not matter. Henry Melton is someone to fear at DT, though, and star middle linebacker Rolando McClain is expected to play.

At this point, it sounds like Unger is almost certainly out, because Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll basically stated that the team will have to hope for a miracle in order for him to suit up. That will hurt Marshawn Lynch a bit, but he’s still facing a soft run defense. Unger’s doubtful listing isn’t a surprise, and hopefully his injury won’t be an issue after this week.

Kam Chancellor’s questionable listing does come as a surprise, and his status is in a state of flux. Not much is known about the recent hip injury he has picked up, but hopefully it’s just a minor one; his loss would have a significant impact against the Cowboys talented offense.
