Washington Redskins Ryan Clark has 50-50 shot at playing
Washington Redskins veteran free safety Ryan Clark left last week’s Monday Night Football loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a second quarter ankle injury, but he wasn’t immediately ruled out of the game and didn’t need help off the field either. The Redskins have officially listed the former Pittsburgh Steelers standout as questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, though his status remains unclear.

According to Rich Tandler of CSN Washington, Clark is “truly questionable” for tomorrow’s game, as the safety has a 50-50 shot at suiting up due to the ankle injury. It sounds like Clark will join Cards veteran quarterback Carson Palmer- an old AFC North foe of Clark’s- as a game-time decision, though it would outwardly seem like the Redskins defensive back has a better shot at being active.
Clark has recorded 30 tackles and a half-sack with his new team, but he has also recorded just one pass defended. The Redskins boast one of the league’s worst secondaries, so they would much rather have Drew Stanton start, though his deep passes could cause the Redskins some issues vertically. Clark and Brandon Meriweather have been, as expected, massive liabilities in coverage, with Clark also contributing nine missed tackles. If he can’t play, then Cards would be forced to play Jamarca Sanford, who might actually be an upgrade in coverage.
