Cleveland Browns Alex Mack carted off field
Cleveland Browns superstar center Alex Mack could be done for the season, as the left leg injury he suffered today against the Pittsburgh Steelers does not look good at all. Doctors quickly worked to immobilize his leg by placing an air cast on it, per CBS Sports’s Jason La Canfora. The scene around Mack indicates that the Browns fear he is indeed done for the year, and the cart to carry Mack off was rolled out fairly quickly.

Factory of Sadness
Although the Browns have plenty of other talented offensive linemen in Joe Thomas and Joel Bitonio, losing Mack would be a massive blow for this team, as they built their solid running game and Brian Hoyer-led passing attack behind that stout lint. Mack is probably the best center in the NFL, and he is certainly paid like it after the Browns did what they could to prevent the OL-desperate Jacksonville Jaguars from poaching the bona fide, intelligent 28-year-old away from the team this offseason (via an offer sheet).
We’ll wait to hear the exact nature of Mack’s injury, but I’m not expecting to hear anything concrete from the Browns, though we could get some info from reporters later on today. He’s definitely going to be ruled out immediately, and, right now, we’re just hoping that we don’t have to hear about a season-ending injury regarding Mack.
