Terrelle Pryor worked out for Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have been busy shuffling their roster at the wide receiver position, as Marvin Jones was placed on the injured reserve today after not making any progress on his ankle injury, and he will probably end up going under the knife. In order to replenish depth at the position with A.J. Green questionable this week with a toe injury, the Bengals signed former Cleveland Browns drop-prone wideout Greg Little. The Bengals aren’t just looking at the wide receiver position, though, as offensive coordinator Hue Jackson could add an interesting developmental quarterback to his side.

Per a league source close to Yahoo! Sports’s Rand Getlin, the Bengals worked out former Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor recently, though Getlin didn’t divulge the exact date of this workout. Pryor hasn’t met with a team since receiving a tryout from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month, though he did receive some immediate interest from the St. Louis Rams after the rival Seattle Seahawks gave up on him during the 53-man roster crunchdown. The Seahawks were simply too deep at other more important positions, and it was a shame to see him cut since they acquired him from the Raiders and could have potentially done something with him.

It will be interesting to see how interested the Bengals are in Pryor and if a workout was successful. He is an intriguing developmental QB for teams due to his experience, speed, and cannon arm, but he lacks requisite QB traits such as decision-making, and he struggles with progressing through his reads. Jackson is one of the NFL’s premier offensive coordinators, so a match would make for a cool storyline.
