New York Giants Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie did not practice

The New York Giants will have to take on the red-hot, rival Dallas Cowboys this week, and they desperately need a bounce-back performance after getting demolished by the Philadelphia Eagles in a shutout rivalry loss on Sunday Night Football. Things won’t get any easier, though, with Victor Cruz done for the year, and the Giants could also be without their best cornerback this week in addition to losing their best wide receiver.

  • According to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, big offseason signing Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was unable to practice today, making it two straight days that the former Eagles CB has missed practice. DRC is dealing with ankle and hamstring injuries, and he also left last week’s game against the Eagles with a back injury after already suffering from those aforementioned ankle and hamstring injuries.

Rodgers-Cromartie looks unlikely to play this week, though his practice status tomorrow will likely seal his fate either way. Prince Amukamara is an excellent talent in his own right, but he’ll still have his hands full with Dez Bryant, who has looked as good as ever. The Giants elite CB duo is now a one-man shutdown band, but their biggest concerns are still on the offensive side of the ball. The Cowboys offense clearly is more talented than the defense, but the Giants offense needs to show that it can keep up the pace with the Cowboys offense, especially since their opponents defense looks much-improved.
