A.J. Green listed doubtful

Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver A.J. Green aggravated a toe injury during last week’s practice, and he has been fully expected to miss this week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts after already being held out of last week’s tie with the Carolina Panthers. With Marvin Jones on the injured reserve, Mohamed Sanu is slated to be the team’s No. 1 receiver if Green can’t get the green light, but Sanu played so well last week that the Bengals aren’t in as dire of a position at the WR position as expected.

The Bengals have held out hope for Green’s return this week, but we’ve simply received no indication that he’s anywhere close to playing. He missed every single practice session this week, and ESPN NFL Nation’s Coley Harvey reported that the Bengals have officially listed the Georgia product as doubtful for the Colts game.

You should read that as “he’s been ruled out”, because there’s no chance that the Bengals risk their star player without him having practice. Green himself never expected to be healthy enough to play this week, and his star name is the only reason why he hasn’t been completely ruled out yet; the Bengals just want to keep the Colts guessing a little bit.
