Kelvin Benjamin, Jonathan Stewart Injury Updates: Panthers active

Carolina Panthers star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is averaging nearly 70 yards per game this season, as the Florida State Seminoles product is making plenty of plays as the “X” receiver in the offense. While he has made some drops and has shown that he is still a raw player, he is much further along in his development than some would have expected, though plenty of credit also goes to WRs coach Ricky Proehl, who has definitely proven that he is one of the best in the business (we all saw how he developed Ted Ginn Jr. last season).

More from Carolina Panthers

Benjamin was cleared to play today after being in the concussion protocol, as he took a big hit from Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict before missing a couple of practice sessions to start the week. Benjamin is fine now, and he could have a strong performance in today’s marquee matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was always expected to play today, and the Panthers have confirmed that he is indeed active after missing some time with a knee injury. With DeAngelo Williams out, Stewart’s health is even more important, and the Panthers finally have a legit rushing attack again with J-Stew back in the fold, and he will need to take advantage of a Packers run defense that hasn’t played well this year.
