RG3 listed questionable against Dallas Cowboys
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is expected to return from his dislocated ankle in Week 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he could still return sooner than that. Although most people don’t expect him to play this week against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football, the Redskins haven’t ruled him out yet, and there’s a chance they could play him against their red-hot rivals.

According to the NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, the Redskins have officially listed RG3 as questionable for the MNF game, and he will be a game-time decision for head coach Jay Gruden. Again, Colt McCoy is fully expected to get his first start of the season after throwing a game-winning touchdown pass last week in relief for the INT-prone Kirk Cousins, so RG3 isn’t considered to be ready to play.
The Minnesota Vikings will be the Redskins Week 9 opponent, but the belief is that the team will hold RG3 out through the Week 10 bye before facing a light matchup in the Buccaneers. It’s not like the Vikings secondary is any better, but giving RG3 more rest makes plenty of sense. The Redskins need to be prudent with his health, especially since it’s clear that he’s a better option than Cousins at the quarterback position; any doubts of that were quelled by Cousins’s inconsistent decision-making.
