Jordan Cameron not at practice
Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron suffered his third concussion in less than two years, as he suffered the ailment in last week’s win over the Oakland Raiders after being the victim of an illegal hit from safety Brandian Ross. Cameron is currently in the concussion protocol, and there’s serious doubt about his ability to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week and the rival Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football next week.

After missing practice yesterday, Cameron did not practice today, according to the Akron Beacon Journal’s Nate Ulrich. There’s simply no reason to believe that Cameron can practice tomorrow, especially since the Browns are going to be as cautious as possible with their star TE; again, he has a history of concussions, and his long-term health is the most important thing at this point.
Cameron is a lock to miss this week’s game against the Buccaneers, and I have a feeling the Bengals won’t have to worry about covering him. There’s a chance he could play then, but the short week gives him less time to clear the league’s protocol. With Cameron out, Andrew Hawkins will continue to lead this offense, and we’ll see if Ben Tate and the Browns running game can get back on track this week against Tampa Bay.
