Giovani Bernard Unlikely to Play on Sunday

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovanni Bernard is not expected to play on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars because of a hip injury. Jeremy Hill will take the responsibility in the backfield. He will take the reps and hopefully be able to lead the Bengals to a win on Sunday.

More from Cincinnati Bengals

Bernard has been taking a beating in the last few games. He suffered a collarbone injury a couple of weeks ago and now has this hip pointer issue. Sounds like he just came out of a car accident with all the injuries that he has been getting. This will be a good week or two to get some rest and hopefully he will be able to return to the field fresh. Their following game will be on Thursday Night and Bernard likely will miss out on that game as well. There might not be enough time to heal up from the hip injury.

Bernard may be out, but A.J. Green will be back on the field. At least they will get another weapon onto the field. That should be able to help the offense some. Not sure how effective Green will be in his first game back from his toe injury. We still don’t know how healed that injury is in the first place and we never know if that thing will fire back up on him again.

Either way, Bernard will be out for Sunday vs the Jaguars. The Bengals will have to rely on Hill in the run game.
