Cleveland Browns star tight end Jordan Cameron suffered a concussion in the team’s Week 8 win over the Oakland Raiders, and his status for this week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was always placed in some sort of doubt. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns have officially ruled Cameron out with a concussion, and he should be considered highly questionable to return in time for the big Week 10 rivalry game on Thursday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals.

  • Cameron’s latest concussion is his third in two years, so it’s of long-term concern to the Browns organization. In a contract year, Cameron is looking to fetch big money as one of the NFL’s most individually talented tight ends, but his concussions and lack of production this season could put a serious damper on his value and could even force him to take a one-year deal to try and bolster his chances of getting big money in the 2016 offseason.

At this point, Cameron isn’t expected to clear the concussion protocol until the Week 11 game against the Houston Texans, but it’s still a bit early to tell. He has just 13 receptions for 250 yards so far this season, so Cameron hasn’t been the focal point of the offense that we were expecting before the season started. No, it’s been underrated restricted free agent Andrew Hawkins who has shined for his new team, and he could have a big day against Tampa Bay this week.
