Buffalo Bills sign Bacarri Rambo

The Buffalo Bills are still deciding what they want to do with cornerback Leodis McKelvin, who could help the team down the stretch of the regular season but might not be worth keeping on the roster if he will only play in one or two games, especially since Corey Graham is a budding star on defense. McKelvin fractured his ankle against the Miami Dolphins and could be placed on the injured reserve, and it looks like the Bills might have found a defensive back to replace him on the 53-man roster.

More from Buffalo Bills

According to a source close to ESPN NFL Nation’s Mike Rodak, the Buffalo Bills are bringing former Washington Redskins safety Bacarri Rambo, who has been an unmitigated disaster in coverage and a missed-tackle machine ever since coming into the league last season. That said, the Georgia product has plenty of athleticism and some upside, so I wonder if Jim Schwartz and the Bills think they can turn this young DB into a useful player. I mean, the Bills have quite the track record when it comes to bringing out the best in player on defense, as Schwartz has added to this by taking Graham from a useful CB into a shutdown-caliber player.

Rodak’s report confirms an earlier report from FOX Sports’s insider Mike Garafolo, so Rambo is indeed headed to Buffalo. The former sixth-round pick is a total project, and he’ll be at the bottom of the depth chart at safety. The Redskins gave up on him back in September, and his only known workout since was with the Indianapolis Colts.
