LeGarrette Blount Signs 2-Year Deal With New England Patriots
By Ernie Padaon
LeGarrette Blount will be returning to the New England Patriots after signing a 2-year deal. He was just released by the Pittsburgh Steelers after he threw a little hissy-fit and walked off the field. That didn’t scare away the Patriots from signing him onto the roster though. They already know what they are getting and want to have him back on the roster.
Last year, Blount ran for 7 touchdowns and 772 yards for the Patriots. He will jump into the backfield with Jonas Gray and Shane Vereen. Gray is coming off of that monster performance in which he ran for 201 yards and 4 scores. I wonder how much Blount will sneak in on some of those carries that could have gone to Gray.
Either way, the Patriots have added the bruiser in the backfield to drag along some defenders for some big first downs and for some touchdowns. They already know how to get him involved on offense and the team is going to love his presence on the field. You can never have too many weapons on the roster. Tom Brady will find a way to make it all work out and this thing will be rolling right as the weather gets gross.
The playoffs are just around the corner and the Patriots are still adding talent to the team. Patriots fans can thank Pittsburgh for the gift.
