Isaiah Crowell starting for Cleveland Browns

Although the starting designation at the running back position does not matter much where a committee is involved, it is interesting to note who is listed as the starter in a committee before the start of the game. According to ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi, the Cleveland Browns have listed rookie running back Isaiah Crowell as the starter above fellow rookie Terrance West, though both players should get plenty of touches in the team’s run-first offense, especially with the disappointing Ben Tate, whose play slid badly after a strong start to the season, now a member of the Minnesota Vikings.

More from Cleveland Browns

Crowell was listed as the No. 2 back behind Tate last week, but the uber-talented UDFA led the way for the Browns with 14 carries for 61 yards and a pair of catches for 30 yards. He’s one of the more exciting backs in the NFL right now, and Crowell has always been the team’s most talented player at the position this year. West and Tate can play, but Crowell is on another upside and has a massive amount of upside.

The Browns should have no problems running the ball against the Atlanta Falcons defense today, and the back with the most carries on the team should have a solid fantasy output. Since Crowell is listed as the team’s starter, it’s safe to put your money on him having the bigger day, and he has five rushing touchdowns this season with a solid 4.6 yards per carry.
