Following the New York Jets’ embarrassing 38-3 loss at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, head coach Rex Ryan remained confident that he’d hold the reigns of the team going forward… or at least until the end of the season. According to the New York Post, Ryan told reporters that he knows he’ll be the head coach of the New York Jets until season’s end.

"“I’m not worried about it,’’ Ryan insisted. “One thing I know, unless it changes drastically, I will be the head coach here for the next five weeks. That’s what I know and I’m going to go about my job like I always do.’’"

When asked if he has had any conversations with team owner Woody Johnson or general manager John Idzik about the state of his job, Ryan replied, “No … I mean look, Woody Johnson hired me. We haven’t had any of those conversations. I’m just coaching. That’s all I can do.”

Next: Jets will finish 2-14

While it doesn’t seem likely that Ryan will keep his job at the completion of the 2014 season, Woody Johnson and he have had a great rep ore since being brought in by Johnson back in 2009. Ultimately, Jets fans should expect a new head coach going forward, and possibly a new general manager as well.

Rex Ryan and the New York Jets will next face off against the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium on Monday, December 1. To conclude the season, Gang Green will also take on Minnesota, Tennessee, New England, and have a second encounter with Miami, following their first clash on Monday Night Football.
