Colt McCoy to Start for Washington Redskins

And the Washington Redskins are going to make the move to bench Robert Griffin III for Colt McCoy. It has gotten this ugly in Washington. The quarterback that was supposed to change the face of the franchise is hitting the bench. RGIII criticized the other players on the roster and blamed them for his poor performance. He has struggled with injuries and he has not looked good in his return to the field.

On the other hand, Colt McCoy has controlled the offense and has won the two games that he has played in this season. His most impressive win was on a Monday Night against the Dallas Cowboys. After that win, he was then put back on the bench for Robert Griffin and the team looked like a mess all over again.

Griffin hurt his ankle early in the season and opened up an opportunity for Kirk Cousins to get onto the field. After Cousins struggled, Colt McCoy received an opportunity and capitalized. McCoy has completed 85 percent of his passes and has thrown a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown. He gets another opportunity to play this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts.

Head Coach Jay Gruden intended to start Griffin against the Colts this weekend, but he must have seen something that he did not like. Griffin hits the bench against the Colts, instead of that matchup against Andrew Luck and the 2012 draft.

The Redskins need to figure out what they have with Griffin. His contract is coming up and the team needs to figure out if he is the quarterback that they moved up in the draft for. Maybe they already figured out that answer and that is why he is hitting the bench. The Redskins are going with the player that has won games and has looked decent on offense over the quarterback that has been struggling.
