Terrance Williams, Chandler Jones Injury Updates

The Dallas Cowboys will take on the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving in what should be an incredible game, and there’s no doubt that this contest has an awful lot riding on it. These two teams are battling for the top spot in the NFC East, and it’s conceivable that the loser could strike out on a playoff spot with there also being two top teams in the NFC North and NFC West. The Eagles and Cowboys will have their two games within three weeks, and while the second game is more important for playoff purposes, both games are still obviously critical.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys second-year wide receiver Terrance Williams suffered a broken fingertip against the New York Giants last week and was limited in the team’s last two practice sessions, but he was upgraded to a full session today. Williams is definitely good-to-go against the Eagles, as he is one of several Cowboys players listed as probable on the injury report. He has a plus matchup on tap, and Williams is a darkhorse candidate for a big day, since he has excellent vertical speed and can beat the Eagles over-the-top.

Some bigger injury news is coming out of Foxboro, as New England Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones is getting closer to returning from a sever hip injury. CSNNE’s Tom E. Curran reports that the former Syracuse star participated in the team’s walkthrough today, and Curran adds that the team is optimistic that he can return for the “final quarter” of the regular season. Jones is an extremely important player to the Pats, because he is easily the team’s best pass rusher; it’s scary to think how good the Pats will be with him back in the lineup.
