The NFC North’s Christmas Wish Lists As Week 17 Approaches

Holiday season is in full swing there are many NFL teams with specific wishes as Week 17 approaches. We’ve reached the last week of the 2014 regular season and I decided to focus on the NFC North’s Christmas wishes — or holiday wishes if you’d prefer. I’m not implying everyone celebrates Christmas, it’s just that having a “Christmas list” is something many kids grew up writing and I wanted to apply that type of thinking to NFL teams.

Today we look at the lists that these four franchises would write if Santa was coming with a sack full of goodies for them. Which of these wishes will be delivered? We’ll have to wait and see

Detroit Lions Christmas Wishes:

5. For their players to stop stomping on opposing players.
4. For Matthew Stafford to return to his 2011 form (41 TDs, 16 INTs).
3. To win the division for the first time since 1993 (which they can do with a win on Sunday).
2. To win in the state of Wisconsin for the first time since 1991.
1. To win a playoff game for the first time since 1991 — perhaps a lot more.

Green Bay Packers Christmas Wishes:

5. That no players get stomped on next week against Detroit.
4. To win the division and get at least one home playoff game.
3. That the passing offense can remember how to get in the end zone (One TD in last two weeks).
2. That Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy are both 100 percent healthy on Sunday.
1. To win the 14th World Championship in franchise history.

Minnesota Vikings Christmas Wishes:

5. That they can defeat the Bears in Week 17 and end the season on a high note.
4. To win their first division game of the year (currently 0-5).
3. That they can start winning close games (their last five losses are all by one score or less).
2. That their new stadium brings new success to the franchise.
1. That Teddy Bridgewater will be their franchise quarterback for years to come.

Chicago Bears Christmas Wishes:

5. To clone Matt Forte ten times and have him start at every offensive position.
4. To end the season with a win against the Vikings for a little something to cheer about.
3. That they find a new coach.
2. That they find a new quarterback.
1. That this season can end (that one will be granted in six short days).

All of these teams are hoping most of these wishes come true. Will most of them? Most likely not, but its never bad to hope for the best.
