Swagger is a funny quality. Everybody has their own unique definition of the word, but it’s undeniable that some athletes have it and some athletes don’t. Swagger is a big part of the NFL, and there even used to be an “Old Spice Swagger rating” in the Madden video game. Last offseason, I compiled a list of the NFL players with the most swagger, so it’s time to do the same thing.

Last year’s list was as followed: (10) Ryan Tannehill/A.J. McCarron, (9) Darrelle Revis, (8) Reggie Bush, (7) Colin Kaepernick, (6) Tom Brady, (5) Johnny Manziel, (4) Matthew Stafford, (3) Cam Newton, (2) Richard Sherman, (1) Calvin Johnson.

Before the good stuff, let’s get the bad out of the way.

The Boring Quarterback Club: (Joe Flacco, Eli Manning, Nick Foles, Andy Dalton)

Two of these quarterbacks have been named Super Bowl MVP, so what are they doing on this portion of the list? Let me explain. In August of 2014, Joe Flacco appeared on the Dan Patrick Show. Flacco and Patrick started to talk about young quarterbacks that get in trouble. Flacco insisted he was a pretty low-key guy, which led Patrick to give Flacco a suggestion.

“Why don’t you start a boring quarterbacks club? It can be you, Andy Dalton, Foles, Eli Manning.” Flacco responded by saying, “Yeah, I wouldn’t mind that.” Patrick then joked by saying, “I guess you just sit around and not talk to each other. That would be the club.”

Redeeming qualities:

While the foursome of quarterbacks are admittedly boring, they all know how to throw a football very well. Eli is coming off his best year, and Flacco and Dalton are in the playoffs. Foles was unfortunately hurt and missed the end of the season.

Bradley Fletcher:

2014 was an exceptionally rough year for Mr. Fletcher. Not only are the Philadelphia Eagles out of the playoffs, Bradley Fletcher consistently got beat like a drum all year long. Philadelphians everywhere rejoiced when Fletcher was benched for week 17’s matchup against the Giants, but it was too late.

Redeeming qualities:

He made Eagles fans forget about the other #24, Nnamdi Asomugha, though not in a good way.

Geno Smith:

Geno, Geno, Geno. Where to begin? Smith has had an abysmal career so far, and there is no indication that he can be a reliable quarterback. He makes bad throws, turns the ball over far too often and he even missed a team meeting because he forgot to account to time difference.

Redeeming qualities:

Smith made a seemingly ludicrous claim that he has shown “Pro Bowl caliber flashes,” but he backed it up by having the best game of his career.
