The Seattle Seahawks enter Super Bowl 49 without any major controversies, and while Richard Sherman‘s arm injury has become a compelling storyline of its own, it clearly isn’t getting as much play, largely because anything about his injury is based on speculation. After dominating Peyton Manning last year, the Seahawks are out to kill the dreams of another legendary quarterback, and it’s no surprise to see that the Seahawks defense is littered with several MVP candidates.

After all, the Seahawks defense put in an MVP-caliber performance against an even better quarterback last week in Aaron Rodgers, as the Green Bay Packers offense had no answer for Sherman and the rest of the “Legion of Boom”. It remains to be seen how healthy Sherman is or how often Brady will challenge him (we all remember the “U MAD BRO” game), but I wouldn’t put it past Sherman to outshine everyone if he’s healthy and tested.

Below are five MVP candidates to watch for, including a player who could have easily one last year’s Super Bowl MVP but lost out to pick-six teammate Malcolm Smith.

Next: Another linebacker?
