With the 27th pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select …
Many fans of the Cowboys can’t wait much longer for these words from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to be followed by the name of the next player selected by the Cowboys on April 30.

The question which will remain a mystery until those words are spoken is … who will that player be?
The Cowboys can go various places when deciding who to select with their first-round choice. They could draft a variety of positions on defense, surprise us with a rare choice of a running back in the first round (very doubtful), add to what is already the best offensive line in the NFL (my and many others’ opinions) or they could trade the pick altogether.
Today, let’s discuss if the Cowboys should look at a linebacker in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
In a recent article from The Dallas Morning News by Jon Machota, he writes in an article titled: “5 Most important positions the Cowboys need to target in free agency,” about the linebacker position.
The article by Machota says the following:
"“They’ll need at least one more starting caliber player in the group, but probably two. Does that come early in the draft? I wouldn’t write it off. They liked Ryan Shazier a year ago and were ready to make him their selection if Pittsburgh didn’t grab him a pick earlier.”"
With that being one of the possible ways the Cowboys could go in the draft, let’s take a look at five linebackers who could be first-round selections by the Cowboys with the 27th overall selection of the draft, though two players who won’t be on the list are Vic Beasley (Clemson) and Dante Flower Jr. as they are projected off the board a long time before the Cowboys are scheduled to make their selection.
