This hasn’t been the best of weeks for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. The loss of Orlando Scandrick really hurts a defense looking for an identity, and the Week 2 preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers was a far cry as to what the depth of this team is capable of achieving.

Where do the Cowboys go from here?

Their next preseason game is this Saturday night when they host the Minnesota Vikings at AT&T Stadium. This is usually the dress rehearsal before the start of the regular season, so maybe we’ll see more from both sides of the ball from the Cowboys.

What everyone will most likely keeping an eye on is the cornerback situation, because with the ACL and MCL tear occurring to Scandrick this week, he’ll be very tough to replace when it comes to his experience and even his leadership, because right now the remainder of the cornerback roster is either inexperienced, injury-prone or both.

There is also the running back situation for the Cowboys. There hasn’t been much to watch on that front either with “America’s Team” in the first couple preseason games, especially the game against the 49ers, but more on that later in this article.

Since I believe there are more questions than answers for the Cowboys leading into this third preseason contest, here are just five things to keep a closer eye on Saturday night when the Vikings visit the Cowboys.
