A divisional battle erupts on Thursday Night Football, but who will be the fantasy football star of the night. NFL Predictions week 3 tackle the Redskins and Giants, and you reap the benefits. Dan Salem and Todd Salem debate in today’s NFL Sports Debate. Check out more of the brothers in Seesaw Sports Debate on BuzzChomp. Two brothers from New York yell, scream, and debate sports.

TODD:

For Thursday Night Football this week, we have a good ole fashioned NFC East rivalry battle between the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants.

As crazy as it sounds, both these teams are in the division-title discussion…although that is simply because of the ineptitude of the division at large as opposed to the skill of these two squads.

For this game specifically, who do you like to breakout? Washington’s Matt Jones had his breakout Week 2 against the vaunted St. Louis front four. For Week 3, my eyes are on one man: wide receiver Pierre Garcon.

New York saw what the Skins did to St. Louis on the ground and will stack the box accordingly. With DeSean Jackson remaining out, the Giants probably figure none of the Redskins receivers can hurt them. However, Garcon is still a weapon in this league.

Last week, he didn’t catch anything deep, but he does already have 12 catches on 15 targets this season. With the status of New York’s best DB (Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie) up in the air after he suffered a concussion, the Giants secondary will be ripe of the taking.

Alfred Morris and Matt Jones proved they are a duo worth game-planning against. Garcon will take advantage of that reaction.

DAN:

This is an excellent divisional matchup, as both teams have nearly been good this season. The Giants lost two games by so few points its silly. Washington, on the other hand, defeated the Rams last week, who defeated the Seahawks in week one. These teams are anyone’s guess, but the standout player of the night is not.

The star of this game will be quarterback Eli Manning. Unlike you, I like what I’ve seen from the Giants, and that improvement carries forward another week.

Manning started the season off poorly, but greatly improved his stats last week against Atlanta. Two touchdowns, nearly 300 yards passing, and a 105 passer rating will continue at home in week 3.

Washington held the Rams’ passing game in check, but the St. Louis receivers are not the weapons which New York brings to this game. Manning has been “this close” to getting his first win of the season for the Giants. The stat trend continues, as Washington struggles to hold New York in check. Its Eli’s game for the taking.
