If you are a member or fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, it’s officially time to panic. Earlier today, it was reported that WR Antonio Brown will NOT play in Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.

In last Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Brown was forced from the game when he took an illegal hit from LB Vontaze Burfict. He did not return to the game and was not able to gain clearance throughout the week as the team prepares for the Broncos.

Let’s not sugarcoat the situation: This is a devastating loss for the Steelers. Without Brown on the field to face the #1 ranked total defense and #1 ranked secondary in the NFL, the Steelers chances of winning this game have taken a huge hit.

The last time these two teams played each other was not too long ago. They played back in Week 15 and the Steelers game plan was to primarily throw the ball. To the surprise of many, it was successful. Ben Roethlisberger attempted 55 passes for 380 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the Steelers 34-28 victory.

Brown finished the game with 16 receptions, 189 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 targets. The rest of the Steelers offense combined for 191 receiving yards.

Basically, the difference between this week’s game and the Week 15 game is that the Steelers are without their best player, Antonio Brown. They are more than likely without leading rusher on the team, DeAngelo Williams, and Ben Roethlisberger will be playing with an AC sprain and torn ligaments in his throwing shoulder. The Broncos defense will also be at full strength this time around.

In the Week 15 game, the Broncos played the game without their top 3 safeties: T.J. Ward, Darian Stewart, and Omar Bolden. All three players are expected to be ready for game action against the Steelers this week.

Oh yeah, let’s not forget that the Denver Broncos will also be hosting this game instead of traveling to Pittsburgh like they did in Week 15.

Anything can happen in the NFL and crazy occurrences happen in this league on a weekly basis. However, it might be time for Steelers fans to throw in the terrible towels.
